Client-side processing

Many Explorme tools process data entirely in your browser using JavaScript, WebAssembly, and browser APIs. When a tool processes data client-side, your files and input are not transmitted to any server. They exist only in your browser memory and are discarded when you close the page.

Tools that typically process data client-side include JSON formatters and validators, image editors, text manipulation tools, password generators, hash calculators, and code formatters. These tools do not upload your data, and we do not have access to the content you process with them.

Server-side processing

Some features require server-side processing due to computational requirements. These include AI-powered PDF summarization and chat, OCR on large scanned documents, certain format conversions, and features that require access to external APIs or databases.

When server-side processing is used, your data is transmitted to our servers or to third-party service providers for processing. The data is processed for the duration of the operation and is not retained unless you explicitly choose to save it to your account. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) for all data transmissions.

Analytics

We do not access, read, or share the content of your files unless it is necessary to perform the operation you requested. We do not use your files for model training, data mining, or any purpose other than providing the requested operation.

Third-party services

Some features use third-party services for processing. For example, AI-powered features may use third-party AI APIs, and certain format conversions may use third-party processing services. When third-party services are used, your data is transmitted to those services for processing and is subject to their privacy policies.

We select third-party services that have strong privacy practices, but we are not responsible for how third-party services handle your data. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services that may be involved in the features you use.

Data retention

For client-side tools, no data is retained because it never leaves your device. For server-side tools, data is retained only for the duration of the operation unless you explicitly choose to save it to your account. We do not retain processed files for longer than necessary to provide the requested service.

If you create an account, your account data and any files you choose to save are retained until you delete them. You can delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
